Hip and joint chews for the old dog who's slower on the stairs.

Glucosamine, chondroitin, green-lipped mussel and turmeric in one soft, liver-flavored chew that supports joint comfort and mobility. Vet-formulated, made in a US facility in Ohio, 90 chews a bag.

Most owners notice a difference in 4 to 6 weeks. If you don't within 60 days, you get your money back, even for empty bags.

Old dogs don't complain. They just slow down.

If this sounds like your dog, here's the plain version. As dogs age, the cartilage that cushions their joints wears thinner. The four ingredients in an Oldfield chew are the ones vets most often suggest to support joint comfort and mobility in older dogs.

They work slowly, and only when they're given every day. So we made a chew dogs take from your hand like a treat.

  1. Gets up from the bed in two tries, back legs last.

  2. Waits by the car door to be lifted in.

  3. Turns for home at the corner, a block earlier than last fall.

  4. Stands at the bottom of the stairs for a moment before going up.

What's in each chew, and why it's there.

Every amount is printed per chew, so your own vet can check it. No proprietary blends, no fillers doing the heavy lifting.

  • Glucosamine 500 mg

A building block of cartilage, the cushion inside the joint. We use 500 mg per chew because most grocery-store chews stop at 150 to 250.

  • Green-lipped mussel 300 mg

A shellfish farmed in New Zealand, with its own omega-3s and joint compounds. It's the ingredient cheaper chews skip, because it costs the most.

  • Chondroitin 200 mg

Helps cartilage hold on to water, which keeps it springy. It's paired with glucosamine because the two are almost always studied together.

  • Turmeric with black pepper 100 mg

Curcumin is a plant antioxidant that supports joint comfort. On its own, most of it passes straight through, so we add black pepper extract to help your dog absorb it.

"I wanted a chew with doses I'd actually recommend to a client, printed where their own vet can check them."

Dr. Anne Castellano, DVM, formulated Oldfield Hip & Joint. She has treated older dogs in Columbus, Ohio for 19 years.

Most owners notice something in weeks 4 to 6.

Glucosamine and chondroitin build up in the joint over weeks, so the first month often looks like nothing is happening. That's normal. Keep giving it every day.

What owners usually notice first, in this order:

  1. 1Getting up after a nap with less of a pause.
  2. 2Taking the stairs without stopping at the bottom.
  3. 3Going a little farther on the evening walk.

How many chews does your dog need?

Dose goes by weight. Older and busier dogs stay on the starting dose a little longer. Tell us about your dog and we'll work out daily chews, how long a bag lasts, and the bundle that covers the first six weeks.

Is it safe with my dog's other medication?

These ingredients are commonly given alongside most prescriptions, but check with your vet first, especially if your dog takes an NSAID such as carprofen or a blood thinner. Bring the bag; every amount is on the label.

My dog is allergic to shellfish. Can they take it?

No. Glucosamine and green-lipped mussel both come from shellfish. We don't make a shellfish-free version yet.

What if my dog won't eat them?

They're soft and liver-flavored, and most dogs take them like treats. For picky dogs, break a chew into pieces and mix it into food. If your dog still refuses, the guarantee covers it.

In a US facility in Ohio that makes animal supplements. Every batch is tested by an outside lab for glucosamine content and contaminants, and we'll send you the report for your batch if you ask.
